Put on my red sweater , and took the free bus from Smiths Falls to Ottawa last Friday , to take part in the "RED FRIDAY SUPPORT THE TROOPS RALLY". Two soldiers wives from Petawawa started this wear red on Friday day .The rally was a huge success , with crowds estimated at 30,000 or more . Rubbed shoulders with a lot of radio and tv personalities , and many politicians . Stephen Harper , Gordon O'Connor, and Gen Rick Hillier all gave a little pep talk . Did  not see "Taliban Jack" . Pte.  Michael  Spence the soldier from 1 RCR , who suffered very serious  head injuries in Afghanistan , was wheeled up the walkway by his father . Michael has a long road to recovery , but with "PRO PATRIA" tattooed on his shoulder , i am sure his recovery will be complete . Anyone wanting to wish Michael well , with a card , can send it to , Michael Spence , 577 Chartrand St , Russell Ontario , K4R 1G1 . According to Thom Joordens (Nato Veterans President) Toronto is doing the same thing this Friday . Good luck and "PRO PATRIA"
