Geoff... you will notice the finger is the trigger finger and that it was a pasitive gesture..
Yes, BJ, theres Ton Lyvers, a rambunctious Cpl at the time. Quite the crew, let me tell you. I was seconded from Mortars for the winter previous, ended up staying with the platoon until I volunteered to to go to Germany with Delta Company in 79. Great time.
Once we even blew up a lake.... and guess what, it was the wrong lake! Oh man, what ever happend to Captain Mitchell....

You were asking about Capt Dan Mitchell. Col Mitchell retired from Ottawa about four years ago and has a place in PEI. I see him walking around the Regent Mall in Fredericton with his Airborne Jacket on. Col Mitchell was my first Pl Comd and I remember Exercise Artic Garcia, 1 RCR, 1979 conducted in the Meaford Area. We lost a C1 and the majority of the Pl due to the cold. Oh the good old days of humping a ruck and pulling a tobogan. If I remember correctly, CWO Hickson was the Pl WO?

Lost a C1! That must have gone over well. This would be the winter before, WO Sonneburg was pioneers pl wo at the time. I was very young, less then a couple of year with battalion. When those bangalores erupted under the frozen lake...woooo... to bad nobody took pictures. Very impressive. And, so we heard later, destructive. Killed damn near ever fish in the lake and, ah, I think it was stocked by the Quebec government... anyhow, like a aqua mini nuke, a sight I shall never forget.

Nope. Little John came to the pioneers later, after I went to Germany. Tom Lyvers, Dick Stafford and Joe parsons are easily recognizable, So is McCully and Macintyre.... Rick Morris is a couple of em but its hard to make him out.
Anybody else got some pictures of Norway?

Mike Right you are, but he does look a little like John. John and my brother were doing the odd job together. At one time they installed metal roofs. BJ
