Was at Canadian Tire here in Woodstock the other day and who do I meet but the illustrious Elmer Teal, looking fit as a fiddle. Those who remember Elmer and his misadventures in 1RCR will realize the laughs we had. Elmer was and is still quite a character.I mentioned he should go over to the coffee gathering held Wednesdays in London at the Pie Shop and say hello to the boys. Was reminiscing about the time Elmer lit up the immersion heater next to Dogface Andersons tent, and almost destroyed the forest. For those not in the know the aforementioned Anderson was WW 2 vintage CSM from the old school who resented having his dreams shattered so violently. Elmer tells me he had the last laugh as his scorched eyebrows were recorded sufficiently for him to now be in receipt of a pension. Who says there"s no justice..Elmer and I talked and laughed non stop for about an hour. His dry sense of humour is intact. His wife passed away 11 years ago and Elmer tells me he's playing the field. Pro Patria..Rick
