I was a Pte and a LCpl when I had John McArdle as Pl Sgt, and LCpl when I had LSgt McGean as Pl Sgt and Sgt MacKenzie was in 9 Pl C Coy. May they all RIP

Greetings Gentlemen.  You may be interested in knowing that McGean's son (a Sgt in the Sigs Branch) works for me here in Borden.  I passed along this photo to him and he is indeed greatful.

Sgt McGean is also step son to Al Tapp.......Regards.

Hi Aaron

The B.O.S. is as sugested "Battalion Orderly Sergeant". There's a lot more to it and he's plain and simple sitting in for the (RSM)

the Regimental Sergeant Major who reports to the (O.O.) the Orderly Officer who sits in for the (CO) the Commanding Officer.

I was the one who posted that picture and I was kind of wondering were you borne at the time that picture was taken? I knew John

really well as well as a (LCpl) Lance Corporal could.

Some of my fondest memories of service include being the BOS.... and believe me, during rehab and prior to remuster, I  was BOS alot.... Wink

Reg Thompson was the DSM of the 1st in those days... anybody got a sit rep on him?
