Hi guys, I am from a decade at least before most of the entries here but will submit my details in hopes of jogging some memories.
Stan Byford, joined The RCR in March of 1956 and did recruit training at London Depot before transfer to 2RCR A Company.  March 1957 took the course at CJATC (best course I ever took) and came back to battaion only to be sent to 1st CIDSR for the summer in Gagetown as they were shorthanded.  Returned to battalion and went to Support Company in Mortar Platoon. In 1960 spent a year with Defense Research at Ottawa (got a dollar a day extra) and than returned to Battalion.  Left the regiment in 1962 after another summer in Gagetown.  Toured Europe and returned to join the OPP which lasted for 12yrs than transferred to Sheriffs Office for 5 years than 2 years with University of Toronto Police before joining Ontario Hydro for the next 20 years from where I took my retirement in 2002 to Prince Edward County.   I must admit the saying once a Royal always a Royal is right on as I have never forgot my time with the Regiment. Anyone that goes back that far and remembers passing by let me know.   Thks.
