Members of the Regiment gathered in Gagetown during the week of 5 June, in order to conduct the following regimental business:

Change of Appointment of the Colonel of the Regiment from MGen Tom de Faye, CMM, CD, to MGen Walt Holmes, MBE, CD. The change of appointment ceremony was conducted at the St Andrew's Barracks WOs & Sgts Mess, hosted and supported by the 2nd Battalion. The Battalion provided outstanding support including a Drum Salute performed by the 2RCR Pipes and Drums. Thanks to Pte Gingras (2RCR Combat Int), some photos of the ceremony may be viewed at http://thercr.ca/gallery/gallery_cotr_chg_appt_2006.htm.

Conduct of the MGen D.C. Spry Small Arms Competition. This year's competition was in a trial format developed by the Regimental CWO. Three of the four Battalions were able to provide ten-member teams ranging in rank from Pte to Capt. Each team member was required to demonstrate skill with the C7 service rifle, shotgun and pistol. Shooting requirements were designed to test the shooter's ability to follow instructions, speed and accuracy with each weapon. The 3rd Battalion team carried the day by a narrow margin and the Spry Trophy will be on its way from Gregg Barracks to Foulkes Barracks. Thanks to Cpl Losier (2RCR Combat Int), some photos of the Spry Competition can be found at http://thercr.ca/gallery/gallery_spry_2006.htm.

Members of the winning team were:

Capt D. Suffoletta
MWO J.R.K. Donovan
Sgt C.G. Arevalo
MCpl T.M. Surette
Cpl M.S. Stacey
Cpl C.J. Whitehorne
Pte D. Gilbert
Pte C. Macquarrie
Pte D. Mitchell
Pte L. Sheard

Meetings of the Regimental Senate and the Regimental Executive Committee were also conducted.
