I like to mention, I was that quiet guy who rarely smiled and probably nobody remembers.

Joined the RCR in May 1965.
I passed through Depot Training with St. Leonardo Platoon.
Lt. J. P. Hill was the platoon leader.
Graduation Certificate is signed by, then, Major Renwick.
March 1966 went to Rivers Manitoba for jump course and graduated CJATC Course #395
Trained for UN Cyprus duty in Meaford but went to Germany instead.
Was in B Coy. until about the end of 1967 when transfered to D & E Platoon in Fort Henry.
In April 1968 I returned to Canada to be released. However, I changed my mind and signed on for another three years. Was married in May 1968 and returned to London in June 1968.
In November 1968 an opportunity arose to return Germany.
I don't recall the company I was in but I ended up working for the officer who was formerly a Black Watch. I ended up working as a barman in the Officer's Mess until my release in 1970, thus the recipe for the Hairy Anticipator.

Yes, there are times I regret not having stayed until retirement... As we say hind sight is 20/20.
Unfortunately, I have difficulty remembering peoples names... I've only met two former RCR in the last 35 years, namely Rod Easton and David Grabish.

I currently work in Toronto in the Insurance Industry.

Hello Burke:  Did I send you some forms to apply for the Germany (NATO) service medal?
All the best.  RT Walsh
