I was with 1 RCR from 72 - 74 then went to 2 CDO untill 77when I returned to the Bn then remustered in 79 to firefighter and got out in 82 and became a police officer with Toronto before moving to York Regional Police where I still am. I recognize a few names in here for sure. BJ MacLean ya dog I never thought you would ever leave the Band! When I was in the BN the firsy time I was in B Coy and the sceond time I was in C Coy who I went to Norway with 78. Anyone know whatever happened to John Tierney? I ran into Doug Christian at the Airborne reunion in Pet in July 05. I also ran into Squirrel Crowe and some others. Take care for now and Rusty drop me a line if you get a chance. I can't say that I remember you but I was with 1 RCR at the same time as you. I was in "A" Coy. I got out in 1981 and joined the Calgary Police Service. I retired from the CPS a few weeks ago.

Jerry Great to hear from you. Yes I did leave the band. The fact is that I did not want to be in the band but ended up there twice, once as a young private and again as the Drum Major when I was a WO. I did have a great time with the band and I had the oppertunity to serve with some very fine soldiers. Jerry Please send me your Email . Mine is bjmmm@ns.synpatico.ca

Jim, I knew a few guys from A Coy but not many and sorry I cant place your name. You must know a Bob Greenwood from CPS. He and I were in the Airborne together. How the heck did you up in Calgary? Good Police Service and much more advanced than us here in Ontario. But thats only my humble opinion. Brian good to hear from you. My email is jrobertson6849@rogers.com Brian remember that old yellow Oldsmobile convertible you had? I cant believe we survived that thing.
I went back to London a few years ago and could not believe what had happened to the Base. All the old shacks around the parade square were gone and the grass was growing up through the square itself. Kind of sad in a way, even if we did spend many a hot day pounding away on it. Nice to hear from you guys and take care.

Hey Jerry; Glad you remembered, basicly i stayed in Edm. until it moved back to Pet.But before i went to Pet. I was on the unarmed combat team ruh by Wayne Johnson, CABC, turkey Mcderrmet and Mcormack from E COY. We spent 3 wks. in England and jumped with the Brits. We jumped over salsbury plain in 2 sticks of 32 C130 in line astern ,and only we know what its like when all those planes have both doors open and the ramp partly open feels like !! When we excited you could see all the plane dropping their paras and when you looked down you could see Stonehedge, pretty cool. From there we spent 2 wks. at the Cardiff Tattoo, thats about all I can say about that ! From there I was posted to Germany were I spent 5yrs. in ADP , under RF Oquinn who is a famous Royal and one of my idols. I got out after the 5yrs. in Germany I was pretty burnt out ! From there I spent ayr. working as a bar tender in Frobisher Bay, Thats another story, and from there I been working for the past 20yrs. in a steel mill here in the hammer ! Thats all for now, take care man ! Tony

HI Brian, Yes I remember Ed. Whatever happened to him? Whay happened to Ridout, Was his first name Bill ,John or Al? He and I were section commanders in C Coy when I returned to the First from the Airborne. He had one huge and I mean huge moustache, kind of red/blonde hair. He was a master cpl then. What else is new Rusty?

Jerry Ed Loveless lives in Dartmouth, I see him and his family quite often. He remustered to a naval electician in 1975/76. He did well in the navy, made it to CPO2 (MWO). He is with his second wife, been with her for about 24 years. He got out of the Cf a couple of years ago after completing 32 years. As for John Ridout, he lives in New Brunswick some were near Fredericton I think. He was a great guy and you are right he did have a big honkin great mustach. As for that I am working on a contract with the DND I teach the Ships Boarding Party Team members Empty Hand Control techniques. I will work 28 days this year in 7 4 day cycles this will pay about $17,000.00 not bad for about a months pay. I live in Kingston NS near Greenwood. I biult a house here and moved in past halloween. Me and Madeline are still together, it has been 32 years now. I don't know which one of us is tolerant but we do OK. I am not sure yet if I am going to like retirment as I miss the fast paced days that I had.
What is up with you?
Your old friend Rusty/BJ

Brian, Good for Ed. Im living in Holland Landing which is just outside of Newmarket, its in Ontario. About 45 mins from Borden. I got out in 82 and became a copper with Toronto and now I am with York Regional Police. Im foing good here, I am a Sgt and love working on a platoon with young/new people who are dedicated to their job. I work shifts, 4 on and 4 off, they break down as follows, 2 days (5A-5P) 24 off and 2 nights (5p-5A) then 4 days off. Add to that my 6 weeks leave, 12 stats and other time off I work less than half the year. Yeah the uniform side is very good. Im still married to Bev and it will be 30 yrs this Aug 21. Catch ya later bud, Jerr
